We serve individuals and communities who have experienced poverty, marginalization, and abuse. Founded by former foster youth, survivor, and foster care advocate, Tori Hope Petersen, the Beloved Initiative serves the foster care community by organizing avenues of advocacy for youth in foster care. We do this, because we believe those suffering have a voice and we want to empower them to advocate for themselves, rather than speak for them. Telling our stories has the power to heal the storyteller and the listeners.
